With all of the spring and summer weddings coming up, I thought it would be nice to switch gears a little bit and go from babies to brides. I added this beautiful bride to one of my spring images taken at the Lexington Cemetery.

A friend from over at 2Peas awarded me the Arte Y Pico. You can read her post here:http://norco5-thewayiseeit.blogspot.com/ I did some searching and found some rules associated with this award:There are 5 rules attached to this and they are :-1. You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also contributes to the blogging community, no matter what language.2. Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his/her blog to be visited by everyone.3. Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her/him the award itself.4. The Award winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of "Arte Y Pico" blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award.5. To show these rules.

I just opened my mail and received this message:
Hi
Fuelmyblog team is awarding you Blog Of The Day!
Attached is your award for the occasion to display on your blog if you wish ;-)
Happy blogging!
How exciting! Thank you Fuelmyblog!

My friend Kaz from over at 2Peas was kind enough to RAK me some macro filters (Thanks Kaz!). This is my first real play with them. I wasn't too worried about composition since I had a hard enough time getting anything in focus. I finally switched to manual focus with better results. The filters will take some getting used to, but I think they will be fun playing with.

I will be the gladdest thing under the sun!
I will touch a hundred flowers
And not pick one.

So it is a little late. =)
I thought my Spring scene could use a Spring bride. I found a stock image of a bride and added her to my bridge. I might have to try this with one of my own photos!
I have been out stalking the spring flowers, but sometimes I run across a little friend. I thought I would share some of my finds here. These were all taken at either the Lexington Cemetery or UK Arboretum.
I can't get enough of these tulips.
For the locals, here is the cemetery watch report. =) The tulips survived the frost quite well. Some were a little bent over and a few that had opened were a little discolored, but overall no harm done. The ones that were in full bloom in other parts of the cemetery took the hardest hit. Luckily they are a little late blooming so most of the tulips were unharmed. By next week they will be peaking and amazing! The cherry blossoms are just about finished. "Cherry Blossom Way" still has blossoms, but they are much paler in color now.
I took the little ones to the cemetery this morning and then had a picnic lunch at the UK Arboretum. I am very lucky to have so many beautiful places within 15 minutes of my home!

I have shot 100's of images in the past week or so. I am sure you will see many of them so be patient with me. ;) I am just happy to be out shooting again. I guess I just needed a burst of color to get me going.

Here are a few more from The Lexington Cemetery. I will be shooting more this week if the wet weather ever clears out.
I added a slight Orton Effect to this one.
