I'm going to try firing up the blog again for 2016, especially the nature/landscape side of things. It is in desperate need of a redesign so I will be working on that while shooting for KSTV. Unfortunately the slideshows on older posts have been disabled by flickr. You can find all of my work in my gallery.

I don't get a chance to do this often lately, but I stopped in the Arboretum to chase some butterflies. Only saw one butterfly, but everything looked so lush and summery!

Absolutely love your Arboretum shots--it just looks so wonderful and lush there. We had (operative word "had") a glorious lush overstuffed English border at our Botanic Garden, and they ripped everything out, including the trees, and now it is sterile and bare and regulated--no wildness will ever occur with the way they've planted it. They've also eliminated at least a dozen different varieties of flowers and plants in favor of the same thing over and over again. BLeh. Give me yours any day!

By the way--i LOVE what you did with the cabinets. They look wonderful! My DD likes to upcycle, too.

They did that to several sections and replaced them with common bedding plants. That gets a big "Boo!" The more I learn about native plants, the more appealing I am finding the "wildness." Apparently the butterflies and hummingbirds agree. Their absence this summer tells me they don't seem to care as much for the changes either! They have done a lot with the vegetable garden and shade gardens this year and installed a new children's garden. I am very lucky to have it nearby!
