I'm going to try firing up the blog again for 2016, especially the nature/landscape side of things. It is in desperate need of a redesign so I will be working on that while shooting for KSTV. Unfortunately the slideshows on older posts have been disabled by flickr. You can find all of my work in my gallery.

Fall Exploring

My journey on this day took me to the Lexington Cemetery, but it unexpectedly started raining not long after I arrived. I was caught in a sudden downpour beneath a tree and was thankful for my weather-sealed camera body. :) I ended up driving out Old Frankfort Pike instead. It was a beautiful drive as always.

I didn't notice Henry Clay's visitor until I was looking through images. I would love to have his "bird's eye view!"

This is the Sunken Garden at the Lexington Cemetery.

Before and After

I shot this same tree during one of our bad ice storms. I was happy to see it had not only survived, but did not receive the extensive damage many trees did. I love shooting the same location during different seasons and comparing them.

Fall Drive

I received my new camera on Friday and can't put it down. I haven't even looked through the manual or learned the settings, but I keep shooting away anyway. For me, it is the only way to really get to know a new camera and so far I love it. Early this morning I decided to take a drive and ended up at the river's edge watching the Valley View Ferry. Kentucky is so beautiful right now and today temperatures hovered around 80 degrees!

I tried shooting one of my favorite farms, but I had a few visitors. They were very inquisitive and followed me all along the fence line, putting their heads in front of my camera. lol Aren't they gorgeous?

The ferry operator was kind enough to invite me aboard for a ride across the river. It was a very peaceful view.
